Lecture « Le Corbusier and Chandigarh » at Villa « Le Lac »

On 26 June 2026, Dr Avita Khawas will present Le Corbusier’s project in Chandigarh during a conference held in the garden of Villa ‘Le Lac’ in Corseaux.

Dr. Avita Khawas is an art, architecture, and cultural tourism expert, and the founder of Tour Company, WalkAroundIndia, based in Chandigarh. Her work focuses on interpreting India’s art & architectural heritage for international audiences through curated, experience-led journeys.

In this talk, she explores Le Corbusier’s vision for Chandigarh as a modernist city, its evolution as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the role of Pierre Jeanneret and the Indian team in shaping its identity. The session also reflects on how this legacy is experienced today through immersive architectural tours in India.
