National Architecture Days 2024 at Le Corbusier sites

The National Architecture Days will be held in France on 18, 19 and 20 October 2024. This 9th edition will focus on the theme of ‘New lives for buildings and new architectural practices’. An opportunity to rediscover the special features of Le Corbusier sites through guided tours, workshops, concerts and other original events!

Pessac – Cité Frugès-Le Corbusier

To mark the Journées nationales de l’architecture, the town of Pessac is celebrating the centenary of the start of construction of the Quartiers Modernes Frugès in 1924. The event, which will be convivial, contemporary, original and freely accessible, will feature an exceptional programme of 7 videos by contemporary artists projected onto the façades and windows of the houses in the Cité. 7 works linked to Le Corbusier, architecture, design and urban planning to be discovered on 19 October from 6pm.

Piacé – Espace Bézard-Le Corbusier

Firminy – Sites Le Corbusier

Free admission, tours (except for the guided tour of the Unité d’habitation) and workshops are on the programme on 18, 19 and 20 October at the Le Corbusier Firminy-Vert site. And to rediscover these emblematic monuments with a touch of humour and scientific rigour, sign up for the guided tour ‘Moi j’aime pas Le Corbusier’ (I don’t like Le Corbusier), an offbeat tour that takes the opposite approach to a traditional tour. Val de Briey – Unité d’habitation

Chants aux grands architectes de ce monde, by Jérôme Fohrer, is a show with music and projections organised on 17 October at 6.30pm at the Modulor, at the foot of the Cité Radieuse in Briey. The exhibitions L’architecture de Le Corbusier à l’épreuve du sport, freely accessible in the hall, and Manhattan, horizon vertical, by Keith Goldstein, will also be on show during these special days.

Ronchamp – Colline Notre-Dame du Haut

Paris – Fondation Suisse/Pavillon Le Corbusier

The exhibition Destinations Le Corbusier: architectural promenades, presenting photographic details of the sites on the Council of Europe’s cultural route dedicated to the architectural work of Le Corbusier and its influence on the world and the history of societies, will still be accessible free of charge at the Le Corbusier Pavilion at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris during these special days: free admission from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.
