L’Enfance Radieuse – photographies d’une Unité d’Habitation
From 20 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, the Swiss Foundation / Le Corbusier Pavilion at the Cité internationale universitaire in Paris will host L’Enfance Radieuse, an exhibition organised in partnership with ECPAD.
In October 1961, photographers Pierre Allard and Jean Suquet were commissioned by La Documentation française to produce a feature on Le Corbusier’s Maison Radieuse in Rezé. Through their images, they captured the daily life of a modern collective housing project designed for the well-being of families and children, somewhere between documentary and staged photography. Presented today in the exhibition L’Enfance Radieuse, this series is displayed alongside period archives and testimonies from former residents, transforming the Maison Radieuse into a real ‘storytelling machine’. Between modernist utopia and living memory, the exhibition reveals a sensitive look at life and childhood in this masterpiece of post-war architecture.
Opening reception on 20 November at 6 pm
Open daily from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm — Free admission
